If you love Baja, Mexico, or La Misión and it's spectacular estuary please come along and join me in my discovery of the Birds of Baja...
Living in Baja, literally perched over an estuary is a bird lovers dream.
With hawks flying by our deck at eye level, osprey perched in trees in the hacienda below or fishing in the river, harrier hawks hovering over the field, egrets, ibis, stilts fishing on the banks and now in fall the ducks have descended-how could I not be?! An afternoon walk down to the river has yet to disappoint. There’s always someone new in town or a shy resident out to taunt me with a brief appearance.
I live in La Misión, a beach/country town where the local restaurant has a hitching post and it’s not uncommon to see a caballero with groceries slung over his saddle. I hope to share the wonders of this beautiful habitat, the Estuary and general area through photographs, paintings and observations to help preserve it and encourage appreciation of this place of wonder that me along with a bunch of birds I’m looking forward to meeting call home or at least a great rest stop where they can get a good meal and hang out.
